My WordPress portfolio plugin JH Portfolio hit version 0.9 today, edging ever closer to the 1.0 major release. The changelog is below, grab version 0.9 of at the WordPress Extend: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/jh-portfolio/. Also, there is now officially a new twitter tag: #jhportfolio

Removed phpThumb altogether – now uses inbuilt WordPress resize functions
Added option to set portfolio template filename
Support for custom permalink structure
Added content filters to jh_portfolio_get_content()
Fixed WP paths for WordPress in a sub directory
Changed all URLs to pass through esc_url()
Added char encoding to all fields such as brief etc
Added JH icon to admin menu page
Renamed menu item to “Portfolio” and moved to below Comments
Added new Extra Taxonomy functionality and theme widget (can be used for extra lists such as “Responsible For”)
Added ability to hide certain categories in JH Portfolio Selector widget
Added template functions: jh_portfolio_the_date(), jh_portfoio_category_is_hidden( $cat_obj ), get_extra_taxonomy_tags( return = ‘array’ )
Fixed editing Publish Date bug

Submitted trac ticket for plugin info via XML-RPC

I have been working on a recent project whereby I wanted to access a WordPress site’s plugin list via XML-RPC. Previously this information has not been available via xmlrpc.php, hopefully it will not be this way for too much longer.

I have submitted a WordPress trac ticket here: http://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/10789 along with an accompanying patch to xmlrpc.php. With a little bit of luck this will be adopted into version 2.9 of WordPress. That being said, if it’s anything like my other submitted patch there may not be too much hope.

New Wordpress plugin: JH 404 Logger

I have just released another Wordpress plugin called JH 404 Logger. It is a simple Dashboard widget that shows recent 404 urls on your Wordpress blog.

JH 404 Logger is a simple WordPress plugin dashboard widget that shows recently visited pages that return 404. The dashboard widget is simple, fast and Ajax powered.

Finally I got round to adding a blog to the website, expect fairly short posts with updates on what I am currently working on etc. You can also hit that orange rss subscribe button to the right!

JH Portfolio

JH Portfolio is a WordPress plugin that adds a portfolio to any WordPress 2.8+ blog.

The plugin has two levels; the pre-made template widgets for ease of use, but for more advanced theme developers it can be used to create complex dynamic portfolios. This website uses the plugin (albeit slimmed down) for the portfolio.
